Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures advance on positive trend

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose nearly 1.48 per cent to Rs 321.95 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. The price of aluminium for delivery in April increased Rs 4.70 in 141 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
Copper futures gain on spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 1.50 to Rs 1,245 per kg on Monday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for April delivery grew 0.12 per cent in a business turnover of 269 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Zinc futures rise on high bets
Zinc prices rose Rs 1.70 to Rs 331.10 per kg in futures trade due to higher spot demand. Zinc contracts for April delivery edged up 0.52 per cent in 109 lots. Traders attributed the rise in zinc futures to higher bets by participants.
